1997 Mare  |   $3,000

Miss Oakie Dan is a really fun mare to ride. She makes a good rider look better. She has a strong, beautifully chiseled head, large jowls, big soft eyes, and flared nostrils. She has good wither, bone, feet and legs and is well muscled. She hauls, ties, clips, is hobble broke, dog broke, bar broke (stands peacefully in the trailer in front of a bar for hours),is good with feet, shots and wormer, and has been around cattle and buffalo. NO buck, NO rear - just a strong mind-set to move. Oakie Dan should have a confident intermediate rider. She used to be my main horse, for years, until I got a youngster that needed way more attention and time than is mare. Her full brother was owned and ridden by Troy Pruitt, the 1990 World Champion Calf Roper and 8x NFR qualifier. She could be competetive in anything that requires speed, she has got it when asked for. There is lots of endurance, she doesn't tire easily. We have trail ridden with her all around and have taken her to the badlands many times. We bred her once successfully to Two Eyed Red Buck from the Pitzer Ranch, and got a nice bright sorrel filly with lots of chrome. Oakie Dan has the potential to do alot more than trail ride. We hope that the new owner can challenge her to higher levels. She is capable. Guaranteed. FUN ! Sound & Healthy.
